Three of Zanzibar's main attractions are packed into a single day. You start at a spice farm where a guide walks you through the plantation, tasting cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, and tropical fruits fresh from the trees. From there, you move into Stone Town for a walking tour through the old town's narrow streets, stopping at the Slave Market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and Darajani Market.
After the walking tour, you take a short boat ride from Stone Town to Prison Island. The island was once a colonial prison and quarantine station, now it's home to giant Aldabra tortoises. You walk the grounds, spend time with the tortoises, and can swim or sit by the shore before heading back. It's a full day, but the schedule is paced so you're not rushing through any of it.
