Tour Itinerary

You're picked up at Zanzibar Airport and driven to your hotel in Stone Town. Once you've checked in, your guide takes you on a walking tour through the old town. You'll pass through tight streets, stop at the former Slave Market and the Anglican Cathedral, walk past the House of Wonders and the Old Fort, and end up at Darajani Market, where locals buy fish, spices, and everyday goods. Your guide talks through the history at each stop, the slave trade, the sultans, and the mix of Arab, Indian, and African influences that built this town. The evening is yours to eat out or rest.

Morning starts with a drive to a spice farm outside Stone Town. A guide walks you through the plantation, showing you how cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, and other spices grow. You taste what's in season, spices, and tropical fruits picked right there. The guide also covers Zanzibar's history as a trading hub for spices and how farming still works today.

After lunch, you take a short boat ride to Prison Island. The island has a colonial history; it was used as a detention site and later as a quarantine station. Now it's known for its giant Aldabra tortoises, some of which are over a hundred years old. You walk the grounds, spend time with the tortoises, and can sit by the water before the boat brings you back to Stone Town.

After breakfast, the morning is open. You can walk around Stone Town on your own, pick up spices or souvenirs, or sit at a rooftop café. Your airport transfer is timed to your flight.
